Old news, that info was published last October with availability in March of 2012 - 3.5 to 15 hp with Evinrude decals and blue paint.

Tmac, I think they are Tohatsu, like the mercs. There was another recent thread about this too. I guess they are saying it is too expensive to put the etec fuel injection on the smaller outboards and be competitive....I at least hope they put the electric start and power tilt on them!!!

I talked to one of the biggest E-tec Dealers in this province in Canada and he said they are Tohatsu's with evinrude decals on them. He said BRP is not investing in the smaller motors biggest they don't get the margins like they do on the big engines.

Yep, electric start and trim will be offerred on certain models of the Evinrude-Tohatsu outboards.

So we have Tohatsu, Nissan Tohatsu, Mercury Tohatsu, and now Evinrude Tohatsu. I'd have to think that's good for consumers. Probably give you a lot of options for getting parts. I would imagine many of the major components are the same within all the brands.
