Default Label residue removal...

I bought a stainless steel ruler. All the rulers were made in China, so I had no choice. I finally dynamited and scraped the paper part of the label off, but a gooey residue remains. What can I use to cut through it? Alcohol didn't faze it. It seems like I've heard of something like GooGone??? recommended in the past.

WD-40 will generally remove the sticky residue.

There's a product called Goof Off that you can get at the Lowes, Home Depot and other yards in the contractor section but you may want to call first to see if they have it. Works great!
There's another product that same company makes it's called Oops-don't get that one, doesn't work.

Goo gone, goof off, Oops, 3-M label remover, each seems to have it's type of glue that it works best on.

Any product that has citrus, or made with oranges works really well. There's a product called Big Orange. That works very well and it smells like (what else) oranges. It works very well. We used it to clean tape off of stainless machine parts at work.
