Default Breaker vs fuse for trolling motor

Armature question.... Why not use a 60amp big maxi fuse instead of a $40 circuit breaker?
How often do you trip the breaker? Ever?

This is for a 101lb terrova.

I switch the breaker whenever I am not using the trolling motor. The I-Pilot gps uses juice whether or not the motor is running.

Nose,
Of course you could do that.
Just pick up the appropriate sized fuse mount. Bolt a connecting bar to your trolling motor battery. Bolt the fuse mount to the connecting bar, and bolt the wire that runs to your trolling motor to your fuse mount.

Then, just have a box of 60 amp fuses on hand, in case it ever blows.

DON't but the fuse in line somewhere. Bolt the fuse holder directly to the battery to protect all of the motor/battery wiring.

You can get fuse holders here for about $3 and fuses for about $1.50 each.
You can also get a 50 amp breaker for $6 or an 80 amp breaker for $20.

Take care
