W. Erie Report Sun PM
Put the boat in and got to fish for a couple hours Sunday from 4:00 till 6:30 PM. Took 5 eyes off of Tousaint Reef. GREAT DINNER! All Males from 2-4 pounds. 3 on white jig with white twister tail tipped with minnow. 2 on silver Swedish Pimple, no minnow. Also caught one smallmouth about 3 pounds.
Turtle Creek has been dredged. T.C. campground/marina's ramps are in good condition. Wild Wings /Green Cove channel dredging in progress. My boat draws 30 inches and I had no problems in their channel. WW ramp not open yet but should be by this weekend. Steve |

RE: W. Erie Report Sun PM
I checked with several charters in the marinas in the reef area around Davis Besse Sat and Sun and they were taking eyes (almost all males) short of
the reefs, on the reefs and north of the reefs both days. Best catch I saw was charter with 24 fish Saturday, but did not get a chance to check late Sunday.. Some fish were caught as shallow as 6 feet and some from 24 - 26 feet. Fish are headed for the reefs and fishing should pick up.... In addition to marinas on Turtle Creek I was told that there is plenty of water for the marinas on the Toussaint River which has been dredged. Bob

RE: W. Erie Report Sun PM
Yes - pretty muddy on Sunday PM. Visibility about 1 foot. Friends fished same area Monday afternoon and did not take a fish. They took 3 in by the beach between Wild Wings and Tousaint River in 8 foot of water.

RE: W. Erie Report Sun PM
Great report Freebird. I have two days this week. My son and I were thinking of driving over (4.5 hours) and launching either at turtle creek or ww. I am curious about current conditions. We are either coming over Thur/Fri or Fri/Sat? What do you think? I have a 1660 Pro-V with a 90 hp. I would love to try Lake Erie and have a lot of experience on lake Michigan. What techniques? Jigs and minnows or dragging small cranks? Thanks for any info and look forward to these two days on spring break.
