Default Kayak Fishing - The Huge Muskie (Musky) Menace

A camera under the kayak revealed why fish were not staying on the stringer. One very large muskie and several smaller ones were caught on camera as they tried to steal food over the course of an 8 day wilderness trip.

You should have tied a big bucktail on the end of your stringer

Great pictures, brings back a memory or two.

Reminds me of the 14lb pike I caught as a lad on LOW in the late 1940's. It was the biggest fish I had ever taken at the time, and at that time, we kept big ones. Because it had gotten dark, and we wanted a picture from my dad's "Kodak" box camera, we decided to tie the fish to the dock on a line and take a picture in daylight. The next morning, I hurried down to the dock and lifted my prize out of the water. A turtle had taken the better part of the fish, from the gills, stomach, all the way to the tail. A pretty disappointed kid, biggest fish ever, and not one picture.

I guess our priorities change as we mature, today the catch and release would be the highlight of the experience.

Bill
