Default kevin van dam elite tripple grip

Does anybody know anything about the kevin van dam tripple grip elite trebble hook??? I've heard there stouter than the regular tripple grips that come on the flickers? Is that true?

I bought some to replace some hooks on the rattle traps

There the same dia. wire or just a little bit bigger as the std. mustad hook (same size for size)
But the KVd hooks have a shorter shank.

So a KVD #4 is the same lentgh as a std. #6 mustad
you do gain the larger (wider) hook and thicker wire

There best used as upgrading your hook size but keeping the same length of the lure

Thanks for the reply. Are they stouter?? The ones that came on the baits the walleye and white bass are tearing up.

Yes and No

I'll agree the Mustad hooks aren't the most robust hook out there
But I love the hook itself, great hook ups and they just work

So if your replaceing #6's with #6's
No, It's the same wire dia. (you'll have the same problem)

If your replaceing #6's with the #4's KVD hooks
Yes, you get a larger dia. wire, wider hook but it's the same lentgh as the std. mustad #6's

THere just short shank hooks that allows you to go up a hook size but keep the same lentgh
of the lure.
(Going up a hook size will give a larger dia. wire or stouter hook)

So figure out what hook size you have and just buy the next hook size up.

Amazing hooks. I have been using them the past two seasons. I also put one right through the back of my thumb this spring. Getting the pickerel off the lures other treble was interesting.
