3M Scotchgaurd Film - Trailer / Boat experience / opinions
I've got a custom painted EZ-Loader (Skeeter) trailer that I want to keep the rock / gravel ding and rust away from.
Anyone have any recent experience with 3M Scotchgaurd Film (or anything similar) with trailer or boat applications?? I read some old posts from years back, but nothing about this particular product. Popular in the auto world, I guess. Wondering if anyone here has any words of advice / experiences. I've got a Road Wing flap on my truck, so no "mud flap" or "tow-tector" advice needed. Thx. I've also explored the Rock-Knockers and Trailer-Tux, ect.... Interested in protecting my trailer more than the boat, but I've heard of guys putting some type of "Film Protection" on bow as well. Thanks in advance....... |

Goose,
I had the Vantage Protection Film on my trailer last year. It is a 3M product and works AWESOME!!! I had ZERO rock chip in my trailer and it looks brand new. Here are some video's on YouTube.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJPOWxth5Vc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rzgNc1MTfQ I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Corey Heiser |

I've used the 3M product on 2 boat trailers and it works great. Bought it off eBay, comes in a variety of widths and lengths. Follow instructions for application and it goes on easy. It has been on my current trailer for the past 4 years and it looks as good as the day I bought it.

I have a 2000 Shorelander roller underneath my 182TS, and I pull it in the winter with all the good stuff the county throws on the road. I purchased the clear chip guard cleaned off the trailer with wax and grease remover and put on two light coats, can`t even tell it is on there. I do have a few surface rust spots starting but after 11 winters and being a steel trailer works for me cheap and easy to do.
