Default saving waypoints

Is there anyway to go into my saved waypoints that are stored in my LCX-20 and save them to an SD Card to keep record of them for my next boat or future depthifinder? Im maybe over thinking things, and if I had a blank SD Card in this whole time while Ive been saving would they have saved onto that automatically?

If you have your owner's manual for your LCX, it's covered on page 123! In case you don't, here is how:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"GPS data automatically recorded in the unit's internal memory must be
saved to the MMC as a GPS Data File in order to store it on your
personal computer. GPS Data Files stored on an MMC must be copied
from the card to the unit's internal memory before the unit can read
them. Here's how:
1. Insert the MMC into your unit. Press MENU|MENU|↓ to SYSTEM
SETUP|ENT|↓ to TRANSFER MY DATA|ENT and the screen below appears.
The Transfer My Data submenu asks if you want to save data to the
MMC or load data from the MMC into the unit's memory.
2. The Transfer My Data menu includes a message which tells you if an
MMC is present or not. If no MMC is present, you must first insert a
card into the unit to activate the Load or Save commands.
To transfer data from the unit to the MMC: press ENT (for SAVE.)"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your waypoints will be saved automatically to your LCX memory, not to an SD card even if you have a blank one inserted!

Hope this helps, and here is the "link" to your owner's manual on Lowrance's website!

Also,
Make sure you insert a BLANK SD card. I have found that to have less trouble saving it on your computer.

Default Get the right card

You need a MMC card not an SD. Look the same but are different.
Cheers

Thanks for the help! And MMC Cards are readily available at electronic stores too, just like the SD cards?

MMC or SD doesn't matter, either will work fine

SD= Secure digital

MMC= Multi media card

A recommendation to everyone that has waypoints, BACKUP YOUR DATA! I recommend everyone have a backup on a SD card as well a backup in a folder on your PC. Many people have lost waypoints because they were not backed up.

Not only would I figure out how to save and backup your waypoints/trails. I'd learn to delete all your data off your depth finder before selling it to the next guy. No point in donating all of your fishing information to the next buyer of your boat & depth finder.
