Default Lewis & Clark

Heard there were some being caught. Anyone here have a report? It's close to my house so I thought of giving it a try this weekend.

Default recap-

last Friday was so so- fished the river bed "channel" along the 28 ft ledge of where it rises to the flats of 14 or so. I contour trolled it with flicker shads / lead core. Biggest was 21" and a few saugers mixed in. Fished 8 hrs and netted 4 fish so, yeah.... kind of slow yet. water temp @ 60. A few people were pre fishing for the Nielsen benefit tourney out of the Weigand launch but allot of dismal faces. I worked the channel from above Weigand to just above the marina access at L&C. I did not notice any boats near the face of the dam as where most will be here soon when the temps fall into the upper 40's.

Good fishing to yah.!

Thanks for the report. Going up early Saturday as the wind is suppose to blow and we'll see what happens. Talked to another gentleman this AM and he mentioned the same area.

I too went out last Friday. Weather was absolutely golden ….but the fishing was tough. I worked the west end of the lake in the chutes. There were about 20 boats working the area. Bait of choice was minnows and every boat had from about 1 or 2 fish to about five from what I saw as the afternoon came to a close. You would pick up one or two on a hole and then move because the action was soooo slow. Did see some soft plastics take an occasional fish. The week before I did well on cranks and every method you could think of would produce, but Friday it just didn’t seem to be there. Never ventured to the east side of the lake though, just stayed west. Water temp was 60 degrees on my sonar unit as was stated in a previous post.

Matt, Based on the forecast and the fishing reports it sound like going out by my house and chasing catfish might be better. Saturday may even be to windy for the river. Heard stories of wind picking the front end of jonboats up off the water. To cold to go swimming.
