Default 1st annual Walleye Scramble tourney in Kansas

We are putting together a "just for fun" tourney at Cheney Lake on Sat. May 15. Come join the fun!

Walleye Scramble Tournament at Cheney Lake
Sponsored by Heartland Outdoor, South Hutchinson
Saturday May 16, 2015

This is a two-man per boat tournament. Prizes will be provided by Heartland Outdoor and will be mostly fishing gear. This format is different from most tournaments in that as you catch fish throughout the day, you will weigh the fish with an official who will be in a boat centrally located on the lake. One fish can be logged each hour creating the possibility of winning multiple prizes. Fish will be judged by weight only.

Time: 7:00 am Pre-meeting at marina boat ramp
7:30 am Boats will be launched and fishing begins
2:00 pm Tournament ends

Boat Launch: Boats will be launched in the same order the entries are received. So get them sent in as soon as possible. Deadline is May 9!

Entry Fees: $40 per boat (Use entry form below.)

Prize Award Schedule: There are 10 prize awards total. All prizes will be announced and awarded at 2:30 pm at the marina boat ramp. If there is no entry for a specific hourly prize or specialty prize, that prize award will be carried forward to the next prize in the following order. It is possible to win multiple prizes throughout this tournament.

1. Biggest walleye for the hour ending at 9 am.
2. Biggest walleye for the hour ending at 10am.
3. Biggest walleye for the hour ending at 11 am.
4. Biggest walleye for the hour ending 12 pm.
5. Biggest walleye for the hour ending 1 pm.
6. Biggest walleye for the hour ending 2 pm.
7. Biggest trash fish of the day (carp, buffalo, catfish or drum)
8. Biggest wiper of the day
9. Most white perch of the day
10. Biggest walleye of the day.

General Rules:

1. Contestants must fish legally and follow all KDWP rules.
2. All walleye and wiper must meet Cheney length limits (21 inches) in order to be weighed.
3. Your boat must arrive at the official’s boat before the hour deadline or your fish will be posted to the next hour. You are allowed to bring multiple fish to the official, however, only the biggest fish will be entered. You will not be allowed to bring multiple fish to the official near the end of one hour and post entries to the next hour.
4. All fish must be alive at weigh-in and released immediately after. White perch must be killed while at the official’s boat. All live wells will be emptied each time a boat measures a fish.
5. All boats must maintain a 50-foot buffer zone between other boats while fishing.
6. While the use of cell phones is permissible, communication with other boats on the lake is not allowed.
7. No fishing is allowed on tournament day prior to the start of the tournament.
8. If inclement weather occurs or wind speeds are expected to exceed 17 mph, the tournament will be postponed to May 23, 2015. If, for the same reason, May 23 is cancelled, your entry fee will be refunded.
9. This tournament is created for a fun day of fishing. Your entry fees will be used for the prizes so the more entries we have, the better the prizes. No whining!
