Excellent point. Now that I think about it, one of the polymers we used in a waterborne automotive interior coating was based on a traffic marker resin. They're not latex technically. Waterborne acrylics or polyurethanes. If that's the case, most are susceptible to alcohols and almost impervious to petroleum solvents. 70%+ Isopropyl(rubbing alcohol) might do the trick. :) Worth a try if the petroleum solvents don't do it.
