Default RE: seasons

Ice out - ice fishing out of a boat

late March - April Jigs on & around the reefs of Davis Basse and shallow water inshore or trolling with large lures up high (4 - 16') over deep water within 2 miles of the reefs

Early Summer (May & 1st 1/2 of June)Islands fish start to school and move away from the reefs dispersing to tradition feeding areas where currents concentrate the bait. The reefs can be good if the water is not too clear. Trolling or drift casting can be productive.
Areas east migrating walleye tend to travel along 32 - 36' breaklines to Avon Point & once east of it they drop down to the 65' breakline. Again the shallower structure inshore can be good if the water is stained.

late June - August still lots of fish in & around the islands but weeds can be an issue (especially for trollers). Jets & Dipsy w/ spoons or harnesses get going)
Areas east the deeper water bite starts when water temps hit 65 degrees. The smelt and with lots of walleyes following, go deep to stay in less than 65 degree water. Dipsys w/ spoons or harnesses or sticks, leadcore, Jets with wt. & all deep presentations)

Sept - mid Oct Once the water temp start to drop, the fish get aggressive and look for larger prey. Early morning are late afternoon bites get intense. Eastern fish start to return west, and the walleyes move shallower (above 50'). Still can be caught on anything but cranks start to heat up.

Oct - mid Nov Fall bite cranks and stick baits rule. Gotta love those Reef Runners & Rip Sticks.

Late fall day or night. Cranks usually up high where the bait is not too thick. At night in tight (6 - 18' of water)

A very brief overview, don't read too much into it.
