Perch fishing at Sugar Island, Mich.

I need some help in finding a fishing camp on Sugar Island , Mich. My brother was up there many many years ago and doesn't have the info anymore. He said he stayed at a camp on Sugar Island on the St. Mary's river. I guess it connects Lake Huron and Lake Superior. He said you had to take a ferry over and the camp was near a Coast Guard station. He was there the last week in April and did tremendous on perch. Is there anyone out there that can give me some info please. thanks.....
