I suspect it was bought in the us or originated out of there
Canada does track there serial numbers and will not honour US Product

So i would assume were talking about the US Division

I have sold both models for more years than i care to admit
and i would never buy a Bird. Just hate the screen res.
I've had many long time Low cust. go over to the Bird side only to come back to LOW

Feels good to say that under the cloak of anonymity
Can't say that outloud or i would loose my job....LOL
Believe me Humminbird has its quirks too

Don't feel bad, after I had three transducers go out just over the year warrt and under two years a conversation with the lowrance tech line informed me about a bad batch of transducers they put out and I could replace them at list price, I now have two new HB's on my boat, One a 1198 with SI, and one a sonar unit with GPS.

Your loss lowrance, I'll never go back.

Default Lowrance

A couple years ago my lcx 38 lost its GPS. Even though it was out of warranty, they sent me a new antenna. When that didn't work, they gave me almost as much as I paid for it towards a new hds8.
