what are you going to use it for?

If its actual use is going to be golf I would go electric.....Actually, I would go electric no matter what the use is.

I'll use it at my seasonal to run around with.

No golfing. BTW, why play a sport where you hit the ball as far as you can and you have to chase it yourself??

There is a cart on Lake-link.com for $1100 with a utility bed on the back.
It is electric with a charger.

I also think that if you are going to hit a ball into a hole off a green ... play pool ... you don't have to walk so far for the beer !!!!

Hey DB,

I bought one too. I was told by the guy that owned the place. If I don't use the cart a lot and I bought an electric one, and had to replace the batteries every 6 months I would come down there and whoop on him. So I bought the gas powered Club Car, if you leave it sit for a long period of time don't get electric.

I paid $1,000 for mine 1999 Club Car.

Default Golf Cart

I bought a golf cart for the same reason. We use it all the time. Hauling gravel to repair the road. Pulling trailers and log splitters. Hauling tools and equipment. Off road use, not too good but possible. I bought new because it came with a plastic dump box on back. The dealer recommended elec because it has more traction due to weight of batteries and also elec motor has high torque at low rpm's. Great for pulling boats out of lake , etc. However, I purchased the gas model. With my location I was concerned about running out of battery and not being able to recharge convieniently. Whereas the gas I could easily get a can of gas somewhere and walk back. Also, the batteries are expensive and need to be replaced, sooner if you do not take good care of them. I'm not a golfer, so operating is strange with the motor starting and stopping every time to place and take your foot off the gas petal. When I say haul gravel, this thing can carry a load!! Good luck, you can't go wrong either way.

Oh a couple of things. I have a wind/rain cover ... sweet. I bought a used golf cart that was quite dirty. I used wonderfoam on it ... WOW it is so clean, looks like new. There are mowing decks that have the hitch that match up with the cart receiver hitch. I also have a light on top like the Po Po. It was a security patrol car for parking lots.

I really like this little booger, if only it could get to the marina from my house in the same day, that would be nice.

You should be able to get a brand spanking new golf cart for free though the stimulus package. A N.Y. reporter managed to do it.
