Default Perko lock in rod storage?

I can no longer put the key in the lock, plus lower arm on the lock keeps falling off? Any suggestions on how to repair or just have Ranger replace under warranty? I just found out that the dealer where I bought my boat is no longer with Ranger, will Ranger let me have work done closer to me or do I have to take to another Ranger Dealer?

Default RE: How many locks are on your rig...

On my Starcraft I had 4 locking compartments but I could only get the key to work in 3 of the 4. Turned out they had mixed locksets at the factory-3 took 1 key, the 4th took another. The dealer and I found this out by trying a ring he had of spare keys. The factory said it was less hassle to just send 4 complete new locksets that did match. Does the arm on your lock just use a simple locknut attachment? if so, if you still have the arm you should be able to just put it back on with a new locknut. Sometimes you may have to carefully bend these arms a bit to get all compartments to latch with the same amount of effort- at least if you're a pain in the neck like me.

If you haven't tried a little Lockease (graphite lubricant) it might be the ticket for the key not going in the lock.

a little REM-OIL and a short stint in the sun will free it up.

use the REM-OIL once a month after that to keep them free.

good luck,frank
