Aqua-vu VPG flasher

The ads for the Aqua-vu VPG flasher for ice fishing look good. Has anyone actually used one on the ice? How does it work on showing fish? Is it as sensitive as a good as a flasher at indicating bites?

I have not used it but it sells for about $229 for a B&W 1/2" screen. The Lowrance x67 has COLOR 3" screen and sells for $299 for icefishing combo at cabela's
