Default Yamaha kicker question

What is the differnce between a Yamaha 8Hp and a 9.9 High Thrust Kicker other than electric start, and power trim? I assume you can buy a high thrust prop and have the same effect with the 8hp?

You need to check the gear ratio of the lower unit. If the gear ratio is the same, then you can achieve the same effect by changin the prop.

Take care

The 8hp used to be the high thrust model, I have one. It became the 9.9 since I bought mine..
