gota, now that Big Popi has given his prop choice and now all he needs is a prop to pad measurement and he should be able to replicate Big Popi's speed and be happy with his boat

But if you want to jack around guessing at motor heights and moving your engine up and down and running to the lake and back more power to you. Here is something else you can argue with some props run lower in the water and some like to be higher. So keep your wrenches handy.

Is that with the kicker and bow mount? Most of the published test results are done without them.

It was done with the 9.9 kicker only, I do not have an electric trolling motor.

I have a new 2016 Lund 1875 Pro V walk through with the Merc 150 4S and a SS Tempest Plus 19P Prop. I am very pleased with the performance. I am running between 46 - 48 MPH GPS most days. That depends on the day, number of guys in the boat, etc. The best I ever hit was just over 49 - that was with 2 guys, gear and perfectly calm water. I have heard of guys getting over 50 with the same set up, but I have not been able to obtain that. I know these are two different boats but very similar. My motor is in the top hole (motor as low as it can go). Have you tried a SS prop yet to see how it runs? It seams like that motor with Lund boats like the Tempest Plus prop.

I agree with some of the other threads - go talk to your dealer first before you start moving your motor, etc...

Good Luck.

Default Impact speed

I also own a 2014 impact sport with a merc 150 4-stroke and a 9.9 kicker with a bow mount full of gear and I usually get 47-48 on GPS with a best of 50 before the kicker and before the gear with 1/8 tank of gas.

Default Prop & Engine Height

I would start with a new stainless 4 blade prop. Aluminum props really hurt performance on boats with a 150 HP motor or bigger, I wouldn't even own an aluminum prop. A lot of people like the Mercury Tempest 3 blade but for these big boats I think a 4 blade performs better all around. Then check the motor height, manufacturers always mount the motor to low to make sure that the engine won't over rev. Measuring isn't the best way to do this, looking when running WOT is the best way to tell.

My boat came with a Tempest 21 3 blade stainless and the motor in the middle hole. I switched to a Tempest 19 and kept the motor in the middle hole, better but not great. Now I run a PowerTech OFS 4 17 pitch 4 blade and raised the motor up 1 hole, good but not great. Next year I'm going to try a Mercury REV 4 15 pitch 4 blade, I think I can get a couple more MPH out of it and gain the 300-400 RPM's I need as well as increase the hole shot and acceleration.

FYI, I have never seen a boat that was setup correct from the factory or dealer, everyone equips there boat with different options and each boat requires a different prop and motor setup. Most people just live with it and blame the boat and/or motor.

50 MPH isn't going to happen unless you prop it way to high then you won't have any holeshot especially when loaded. I would say 45-46 is realistic with good all around performance.

Its funny how if you go to a bass boat forum, set up usually always includes a prop to pad measurement, walleye forum and hardly anyone know the usefulness of the measurement.

If one guy would give this guy their prop to pad measurement he could tell in minutes if he needs to see the dealer and get his engine adjusted.

And going from an Aluminium prop to a stainless can be a big difference. I had a stainless prop and an aluminium and i could get the exact same performance out of each but there was a 2+ inch difference in motor height.

You guys trying to measure Prop to Pad, its a IPS hull not a Raised Pad like a Ranger, Triton, Yar Craft etc.....As was mentioned above by a Lund Guru, RAISE the engine to top position on transom, get a 19p Tempest + and go enjoy your 45-50mph Lund,
