Angry yamaha T8 drifts down

My 2005 yamaha T8 keeps drifting down, anyone else having this problem. Is there a simple fix. Parts are very expensive.

I'm no Yamaha mechanic, but can you adjust the tension on the handle or the linkage? I did do this on an older Evenrude, and it seemed to help. Just a thought.

I assume you mean drifting as in tilt drifting down? Sounds like a leaky tilt motor or gasket out if it is not holding pressure to keep the motor up. Probably not a cheap fix I imagine....sorry....

Default Check fluid level

Tilt full up. Remove fill screw and check fluid level. If not full, fill using eye dropper. Replace screw and trim full up/down 10 times. Re-check level. Fill again if needed.

Also, When not in use and in the up position, you should be usig the tilt rest pin to take all of the pressure off the hydrolics.
