Just to the East of Nipigon out of Pasha Lake Cabins (Jellico, ON). Not sure of exact area, but that's our home/base camp.

Yup going this year. Leave on October 10th for the 13th gun opener. Near Sioux Lookout. Hope the weather is good and cool.

Our group has hunted north of the Jellico area on fly in hunts. Has pretty good success. Also hunted just northwest and northeast of Sioux Lookout. Preferred the Sioux lookout area, seemed to be more moose in that area.

To be honest we are just happy to go. Dad and I both have big bulls on the wall so we aren't to worried about harvesting large antlers. We are more excited about getting up there and the fact that the hunt is terribly cheap (bull tag and a cow tag). Neither of us care what we shoot. So I hope that should improve our success.

Regardless, doing an archery hunt with dad is more important than harvesting a moose.
Wade, I like your attitude. Sign of a true sportsman!

Have a couple of questions for you experienced Ontario guys:

1) Is it true DIY? if so, any areas or locations? I'm not looking for your secret spots or GPS cords, but area like NW, SE, area.

2) Whats it cost? Cheap is a different term for a lot of people.

3) I seen someone say something about a calf tag, they issue tags to shoot a 6 month old animal? Or was it suppose to be a cow tag?

Thanks!

Planning 2016 moose hunt-Ontario. Any info greatly appreciated. Area out of Hearst, east near Cochrane, or Nipigon area?
Thanks

After our hunt, I would highly recommend it.
