Maybe a worn/dirty worm gear causing the stacking of line to one side as the pawl sticks to one side for more than once cycle! Or, if while spooling line, you were spooling from the right side with line under tension will also cause it to stack to one side! First thing I'd check is for a worn/dirty worm gear and worn pawl on the line guide!

Mpower,
How did you re-spool?

Did you have the reel on a rod?
Did you have the line running through all of the guides?
Were you putting tension on the line - at the feed spool and not right at the fishing reel?

At any rate, whenever, you are spooling on line, and find that the line is stacking at one side of the reel, just use your thumb to put side pressure on the line to center up the line.

Also, as one of the other posts mentioned, if you haven't serviced the reel for a while - do a good service and lube on the reel and go fishing.

thanks...rew, i put the line through two guides and put tention on the line near the reel, not the line spool. i'll run it all out next time on water and hopefully it will center itself.

It happens from having presure on the line to the right in this case or by tipping the reel to the right and gravity stacks it higher on the low side. Use it a couple times and it will work itself out.
