I have no issue with the letter to the CEO. It should give someone a crestliner some insight. Not sure why it was posted for us to see. I have seen sloppy work in many things. We should not be silent about it but we should channel it in a productive direction. The dealer should make it right but it is too late. I think you were wise to do it yourself but let it go now for your own sanity. Enjoy your boat, good fishing! Bob

As long as you're replacing the TM plug & socket, get one rated to handle the amp-draw of your trolling motor. That Marinco ConnectPro is only rated to 40 amps,,,,,

My rating plate is only a sticker.

I want rivets.

Is the CEO of Crestliner also that of Lund because both are made at
the same place and both are Brunswick Corp.

Whats with all the negativity directed towards the OP? That many issues reflects very poorly on Crestliner and the dealer. Crestliner should be pleased that he pointed out all of he mistakes they made in the manufacture of his boat. Maybe they could apply a little process improvement to reduce the likelihood of it continuing to happen. Both should be embarrassed that the boat was delivered in that condition.
You come across sounding like a complete and total ***. That's my honest opinion.

Wasted 8 rivets? Really? Lol...
Opinions are like a$$wholes...everybody has one.
I think like the op came across as a frustrated buyer of an expensive product that had numerous issues...he was able to fix most of them but I would expect someone from the company to have the decency to send him some reply. You spend over...what $25k on your first new boat and find quality sucked...and not be frustrated...sure....ok. Companies claim second to none quality, attention to detail and great customer service....very few deliver on these promises and they should be called on it.

I am constantly amazed at how meticulous guys are with the look of their boats here...yet 12 rivets drilled in what?...a 4x3 inch plate...not a good omen of quality...I am sure the op was just being sarcastic with the "wasted 8 rivets" comment.

What I am not clear on is how he took delivery of the boat with the more obvious issues like the dirt under the paint and decal and also why a 2012 boat was still around new in 2015. Still, if it had flaws...it should have been advertised as such. I can see a guy being excited about such a purchase and not noticing things till he got home.

Give the guy a break though.
Interesting that is your first post on WC. Hopefully something positive will happen in your life and you can tell us about that too.
So what...if the guy had over 7000 posts like you does that give his frustration level more credibility or the right to share his experience? I appreciated his post...in the market in a year or two for a new tin boat and he pointed out some helpful observations. :chillpill:

I wonder how good of a deal he worked out on the 3yr old boat that was brand new. IE: Was this boat subpar and sold as such?
