Myself and Uncle Kirker hit up Darling. Got there around 2:00. Fished around a bit, pulling cranks 'til we finally found 'em. Pulled #7 shad rap in 13 fow. All the colors caught about equal. Kirker was running a jointed rapala. 2.3 mph seemed to be the ticket. Finally mastered planer boards ... well, got it somewhat figured out anyway. Fished South of the ranch, where the pelicans sit, and south. Just kept going back and forth over that same stretch. Caught 1 or more each pass. Caught our limit and packed 'er in. Cookie cutter eater size. 14"-18" plus about 1/2 a dozen dinks, and 1 bullhead, and 1 perch.

Pulling cranks seemed to keep the bullheads off the line.
