Wish we all could just hang whatever motor we wanted on our boats?? How about manufacturers warranty on the hull since you are exceeding recommendation?? Just curious. I know the wheel boats mount higher HP so shouldn't be a big deal there I guess. Let us know how crazy that setup performs!!!!!

What version/part number do you have on order? With the hydraulic power steering, or without?

Lots of us up here over power our boats. Its easier on our motors! Not WOT all of the time = better MPG.Fuel up here is 1.30 a litre.Nah! I lied,i just like going fast.I cant afford a big fancy boat,so i do what i can to compensate. As for the warranty im not sure, but im also not too worried about it.Should be fine.I will post the results after it breaks in.

Thanks. I've sent an email to the "guy" at Mercury, and will try to get an honest answer for you with what the hold-up is. If it's the set of brackets that attach the handle to the engine, I've got a set "in stock" I could loan you if need be.

Stay tuned, HRG

The OptiMax is actually 24lbs lighter than the 75HP EFI that the boat is rated for so it will actually put less stress on the transom (minimal difference I know) and as for the hull ripping apart....ya I doubt it. I Don't think Lund puts and less craftsmanship into the 1725 than any of the bigger versions of that series of boats and there rated for way more HP than 115. I for one can't wait to hear your results with that setup!

Did you try finding one on the internet? If you do cancel the one that's on order and have them purchase it on on the net. I wouldn't wait that long.
