The 38 HD stands for Hard Drive, 30G built in and pre loaded with maps, except for the hard drive it's the same unit.

Wink

Haven't used the 37, but I love my 38. Actually, it has some great maps. I don't think I would spend money again on another chip.

Default Lcx-37c

I opted for the 37C - just picked it up at Cabela's last weekend. I didn't think I would benefit from having the 38C with the hard drive.

And future upgrades that require an integrated harddrive. As our fishfinders become more like computers, there'll be lots of options to consider that won't be back compatible with older machines.

IMHO, after fishing these units in Lac Seul, I'm itching to put one on my boat. Wow.
