Minnkota ?

I am looking at buying a used minn kota power drive with I pilot for $600. What would I be losing out by not going with terrova that goes $1500 new? Thanks for any input!

They have a different stow and deploy mechanism. The Terrova has the option of higher thrust. The V2 draws power as long as it's connected to the battery. The Terrova does not. I've had both and currently run a Terrova. There is nothing wrong with either choice. If the V2 or Terrova has the original hand controller, it will need replacing. The generation 1 controllers are prone to breakage. The generation 2 controllers are a better design and hold more tracks.

I forgot to mention. V2 Ipilot will not work with the footpedal which is a piece of crap anyway. Terrova gives you the option for both. It has a better footpedal which will operate with or without the ipilot. The foot pedal has no Ipilot controls in it. It will however override the Ipilot
