Pikeslayer8
Hi Dave Janns!

Bob Barnhart& Dave Janns
Hello everyone

Fishincrazy
There have been some questions about jig hooks everyone is wondering if there is some kind of cross reference from the standard Eagle Claw hooks to higher grade hooks?

Fishincrazy
Fellows fire away!

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
We have cross references for most hooks on our website. In the ask the expert section under mold hook sizes.

Fishincrazy
Well there you go!

AllenW
Is hook actual size there too??

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
We actually have tried all the hooks and sizes in the mold to make sure the work

Fishincrazy
Do you have a favorite brand?
Bob Barnhart
No the hooks sizes are referenced in our parts sizing chart

travis from north Dakota
bob i guess i dont kno to much about ur company

travis from north Dakota
can u give me a fast run down

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
It really depend on the hook style and the head I'm using

AllenW
What I'm having trouble with is when I cast jigs I want as long a shank on some as I can get, hard to tell what lenghts they are ?

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
We specialize in parts and materials for making fishing tackle. Netcraft has been in business since 1941 and we are located just outside Toledo Ohio

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
www.jannsnetcraft.com

fishincrazy
You can also check them out on FB

Pikeslayer8
I'm interested in making my own flavored plastics such as 3" grubs and crawlers and leaches. What would be involved for a setup such as this? I like the idea of homemade Trigger X so to speak.

Fishincrazy
I have a friend who ordered all of this equipment from Janns PS good question

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
We offer all the parts you will need to make your own soft plastic baits

Pikeslayer8
grub molds?

AllenW
Instructions on how to do it to?

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
Yes, we offer grub molds 3 and 4"

Fishincrazy
Do you also sell the attractant to add to these creations?

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
We have a video on our website and youtube as well

AllenW
Great Thanks!

JJScully
I've been looking around at wire benders and wondering what you would recommend? I've been using a worth handheld but wore that out in about a month. Not quite commercial yet but don't want to waste money on junk

Fishincrazy
Now I understand you both are serious fisherman for many different species do you have favorite presentations??

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
We offer Anise scent

travis from north Dakota
dont need a business like hagens or tax id number to order?

Pikeslayer8
Anise is definately key

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
We offer 5 wire benders.
It really depends on the wire diameter and the specific bends you want to make
No tax ID number needed.

JJScully
I've mostly been making end loops with .031 and .041

travis from north Dakota
I gotta put the kids to bed BBL

Fishincrazy
What is your most popular product???
See you later Travis

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
It really depends on the time of year .I love to troll .Spinners are my favorite.

Fishincrazy
Nice do you fish big water?

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
The Hagen's wire bender is the way to go. We offer it at the best price I've seen!

Fishincrazy
There you go!Ever add floats to your rigs?

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
Lake Erie most, but we do fish Saginaw Bay often

AllenW
Do you use snap weights?

Fishincrazy
Are you pulling large blades like size #6?

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
sometimes, I prefer inline weights for spinners. Sanp weight in front of Reef Runners in the fall is a great trick

fishincrazy
We're chatting with Bob and Dave from Janns NetCraft tonight fishmonkey ask any tackle question you'd like

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
Size 6 and bigger sometimes

Fishmonkey
whats the coldest you pull cranks say with leadcore
Water Temp Sorry

AllenW
Ok, good, the question I have stems from a post on the forum, which led me to think about casting my own weights, and shape seem to work best in your opinion??

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
Ill fish cranks untill it freezes

Fishincrazy
We do here all winter till the river freezes up

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
There are times we use floats on our spinners. Slow trolling or fishing structure.

Fishmonkey
we have water temps right now of 38 would you pull cranks in 25 feet of water with temp like that

fishincrazy
That makes sense,I would!

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
Me Too!
I like torpedo shape weights

AllenW
Thanks!

Fishmonkey
Super clear water how much leader in front of your lead core?

Fishincrazy
I like to fish x-raps,and deep husky jerks till ice.

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
I use the doit molds in line mold with crane swivels

Fishinmonkey
water temps not a factor?

Pikeslayer8
Are you thinkin of making them Al?

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
About 25' for me

Fishincrazy
I don't think water temps are a factor they feed till the bait goes away

Fishmonkey
pulled up stream

AllenW
Yes, I have 10 gallons of lead and try to make whatever I can, looking for the mold they suggested now..

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
I agree. Temp is not usually a big problem

Fishincrazy
We're talking to Dave Janns and Bob Barnhart from Janns netCraft

Fishincrazy
This is why we're here we're all tackle junkies!

Pikeslayer8
still tryin to wrap 10 gallons in my head. Think ya might want to make an anchor Al? lol
AllenW
I found bead chain too, you guys are going to cost me a fourtune..

Fishincrazy
nice!!!Way to go Al!!

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
I like wire. holds up better

AllenW
Not sure how much weight is there, to heavy to lift

Fishincrazy
Dave say a fello wants to learn how to air brush what do you recommend to them?

AllenW
Bead chains are for the spoons to help prevent line twist..I hope, I'll use the brass eyes for these

JJScully
I looked the other day and you were out of alot of sizes of wire. Are you seeing alot more wire sold with the Alabama Rig craze. It seems that everyone is trying to make one

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
We have a crankbait painting video (DVD) that is great. The order number is 740-211
By Wednesday our wire stock will be better. The Alabama rig is popular

Fishincrazy
I was thinking about trying to paint some blades is there anything specific you recomend?

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
Airbrushing is the way to go. The Paasche airbrushes and compressor is the answer for painting

Fishincrazy
any recomendations for a paint?water based or what?

travis from north dakota
does the air brush come with a training class lol

fishincrazy
There you go!

Travis from north Dakota

bass55
I plan on trying to make my own hair jigs this year. What is the best material to use deer hair of something else.

AllenW
You need to clear coat createx?

Pikeslayer8
Travis, my family wants to do the Devils Lake thing. Do you guide there?

Fishincrazy
I like Deer hair myself.Maribu works well too

MrStarnes1
this sounds bad, but i hope we get pounded with about 2 feet of snow soon

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
Deer hair is a good option but the most popular has been Craft fur.

Fishincrazy
I'm with you I need the money

Travis from north Dakota
from time to time and i am planning on more time there i fish there as much as i can tho

bass55
Do you stock this craft fur

Fishincrazy
I haven't used craft fur my buddy does and he recommended it

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
I would recommend adding a clear coat to any paint

Pikeslayer8
We will talk later, sorry for being off topic, again

Fishincrazy
even to a bake on?

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
We stock craft fur in 8 colors. the order number is 650-140

Bass55
A friend of mine told me that you have some speicial color reef runner crankbaits that no one else has. Is this true? If so what colors are they.

Fishincrazy
Allen I see one shad body mold

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
We have a 4" minnow and a paddle tail shad mold. In the next week we will be working on new molds for 2013. Any suggestions??

Pikeslayer8
Hellgramites

Fishincrazy
do you have one like a storm shad in larger sizes like 6-7"
I use allot of these in the surf.

AllenW
5" minnow and them things with the flat curly tale

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
We do have 2 "janns only" colors of reef runners. 50 below and lethal dose. Awesome colors, caught a ton of fish this fall on them!
We don't. We have some limitations on the size of baits our molds can produce.

Fishincrazy
How do you like the new Rick clunn lures?
Bass55
The stik bait is awesome

AllenW
Flat curly tails might be called mullets..maybe

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
I think they look great. With Rick Clunn designing the baits, I'm sure they will be a big hit!

Pikeslayer8
did you get my response k4

fishincrazy
I like the write up it say's they suspend I like suspending baits

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
I'll check into it
bass55, we have the fat bottom shad in stock as well as the new Havoc Baits from Berkley

fishincrazy
I love suspending baits especially with the weight transfer system it must fly like an eagle!!

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
They cast very well! The weight transfer system is very unique.

Fishincrazy
I've fished some plugs from the netherlands I think that use the weight transfer it makes a world of difference while casting

Bob Barnhart & Dave Janns
I agree

Bass55
