Default Gulp Alive ruining Shimano reel handles?

Howdy,

I was on another forum and a number of members were commenting on Gulp Alive dissolving the finish on Shimano Septon reel handles. I haven't experienced this myself, however, I don't use Gulp Alive all that much. Has anyone ever experienced this as well?

I have a good amount of Gulp Alive and like it, but now I'm worried about my reels too. For what its worth, it was a bass fishing forum that tended to have a lot of Florida based participants so Im not sure if temperature was a factor.

Take care,

Ruddiger
