Default question for ranger owners ( jack plate )

iam debating about getting a Hydraulic Jack Plate on my 2012 ranger reata 1850 rs /175hp verado reason being ,is my lake at the cottage has alot of shallow waters especially where i need to launch the boat i need some advice on what size setback , what kind of a lift i would need and any more information or advise never had one before so any advise would be greatly appreciated

You should call Ranger, they will only allow a certain setback on their boats. A 2050 Reata has a max setback of 6", so I would imagine the 1850 has similar requirements. Ranger recommends a Bobs hydralic plate and they do sell them at a good price.

There are pros and cons to each, the Bobs you have to put the tank and motor in your boat (space?). An electric unit has the motor on the plate and nothing else to install. I am no expert though, so talk to Ranger first then check several out. Atlas, Bobs, CMC all make good products.

Bobs now makes a self contained unit ( no pump mounted in the boat) . Check out their web site .

I believe the Reata 1850 has a max of 6" for jackplates!
