spotting scope ?
For out to 200 yds what are you guys recommendations for a spotting scope without breaking the bank ? When range shooting that distance its a pain to walk back and forth to see where your rounds are hitting.

If you're looking for 22 caliber bullet holes at 200 yards, you'll need a pretty good scope. Read a bunch of the postings in 24hourcampfire.com optics forum. Vortex may provide the best view for the dollar.
The best reviews of binoculars and spotting scopes are found at betterviewdesired.com, a birdwatching site. |

I just got an e-mail from cameralandny.com about a sale on Voretex spotting scopes. If you are a member of one of a number of outdoor websites where they advertise, shipping is free. 24HourCampfire is one of those.

Dirty Bird targets are a big help in spotting small caliber hits at longer ranges. Just Google "Dirty Bird Targets".

They are not that popular, but if you can find one of the old style Leupold scopes, the black rubberized straight tube models, they do really well for the money. I have both a 20X and a 25X that I have picked up on internet auction sites for around $200.00 each. I can easily see .22 cal holes in targets with either scope, so will probably end up unloading the 20X at a gun show one day.
