Default 03 Mariner 150 EFI reflash

Ok I am looking at a different boat. It is a 19.6 foot Crestliner Phantom SST. It has an 03 Mariner 150 EFI on it. Since that boat is rated for a 175, I am asking if the 150 can be reflashed to a 175? From my understanding so far is that they share the same displacment (power head) up to 200. So if that is so then it should not hurt the motor at all to up it to 175 up. But if it can be done, does anyone know who does it? I don't have the money to put a new motor on it if I get it and if it can't be done then I am going to pass on the boat.

Thanks for the info. Just so other know, I am not looking for a hot rod. The boat runs in the 45 mph range from whatt he seller said. Just want to get it closer to the 50 mph mark or possibly more with a different prop to increase cruise speed with lower throttle settings. This is why I hate when people don't go with the max rated power for the hull. You have to run higher throttle to get a decent cruise speed thus you are using more fuel and taxing the motor more thus reducing the longetivity of the motor.

Well I got a response and all they can get is 15 to maybe 20 extra hp for about 650.00.

sounds like a good deal to me, price out the difference between a 150 and a 175, I'm thinking that it will be a lot more than $650
