Default Slow day, dumb ?

Just sitting here and got thinking...

If the Pro Supplies all the equiptment, what happens if the Pro is right handed and the Co is left handed?

Can the Co bring they're own reels then?

Al

Not sure but my guess would be that the co is going to be right handed for the day...

Default Right, left hand reels

Remove the handle and put it on the other side if a spinning reel, otherwise deal with it, most co's I have had can handle this minor issue.

Ya, deal with it, they're really nothing more than net boys anyway huh?

Flip the net over and push the net through the hoop. Then it will at least look right handed...

Al:

Not sure why you posted the way you did, "nothing more than net boys anyway". That may be the case in some boats. But, in most boats we figured out who wanted to do what. In most cases in my boat we each fished our respective sides of the boat. If possible, I preferred to net. If you will watch Keith K. he generally nets. The netting job is by far more important that the reeling in of the fish. But, on occassion I have had co's who were really good at netting, and preferred to net as they were fearful that they might mess up while reeling in the fish.

In all of the years I fished, I only had the issue of left vs right handled reels come up when using spinning reels. The issue was easily solved by changing the handle placement. It never come up while using trolling reels as all of my partners could reel in what I was using. I guess if I had to I could have set them up with spinning reels for trolling as I always carried spinning reels in my boat and could have easily adapted them for trolling.

A really good team is a team in which they each share in the reeling and netting.
