I would leave it alone. you are already getting a replacement. nothing good can come if you open it. Lowrance may or may not care you opened it. I wouldnt take the chance.

Leaving the power on or hooked up creates current across areas not suppose to carry current. Current and water creates an abundance of corrosion very quickly switches ie etc. |

after hrs know on phone with lowrance ,i have determined it is my last one ,had a go seal bad on one unit and it got wet ,paid more than retail for just a hds10 head replacement to be shipped asap .they would credit me when they received mine back ,after seven days replacement unit still has not been shipped and i really needed to come by the middle of the week as i am leaving for a tuorny ,one dept seems to blame it on another ,tired of all the BS

Have you tried calling them and asking about when they shipped the unit out? They should be able to tell you if you give them your name or your old units serial number. That way you can have some peace of mind about it bud.

Not being rude if you read my post i have been in touch with them spent hrs on the ph getting bounced around ,i just finally found out the are out of stock that is why it is not been shipped ,it took them a week to figure this out ,no disrespect Keith just grumpy lol

i had to pay $2300 for a refurb hds 10 gen 2 head only ,upfront so they would ship it that day lol so i would get it in time for my tournement ,10 days still not shipped ,they will credit me $2150 when they determine if it was my seal that cuased the water damage on my 21/2 year old hds10,if it was not i own a expensive refurbed head ,i paid to have it shipped before they received my damaged unit as i needed it asap lol
