Default 1996 Skeeter S1650

I am looking at a 1996 Skeeter S1650 with a 115 Johnson. It looks a little small to fish 3 people from it as I have 2 young boys.Has anyone fished from this boat? Can it accommadate a kicker? How is this hull for speed and rough water ability? Is it close to a ranger 681?The boat is in near mint condition. Thanks for your replies.

i have a 1650T with a 60 hp yamaha. it goes 30mph with a full tourney load.i have at least ten thousand hours on it and have never has a problem.it can take rough water far better than any aluminum boat.have fished three out of it so it can be done.much much are they asking for it?

I had a 1650T, same boat but tiller model. Merc 60HP pushed it to 38mph light load with a ss prop. Pad hull with a setback. Ran circles around the lund pro vee 1660's which was about the same size boat. And it was a lot dryer and smoother. It fished two perfect but three started to get crowded. With a console you are going to lose more room making it worse. I'd say move on up if you do a lot of threesomes. I did run a 9.9 kicker along side the 60 during cold water trolling but a 115 plus a kicker would be a lot of weight for a 16 footer.

I have a Skeeter 1850 which I like a lot. The boat is like a tank. :)

My friend has a Skeeter S-135 (17') which is very similar to the 1650, and he loves his boat. He has a 125hp w/ single console. He takes the whole family fishing (3 young kids and wife) all the time.

I don't know about a kicker option for that boat, so can't help ya there.
