Default 223 ammo

Anyone have a good source for good 223 ammo. Just built an AR and need to find 500-1000 rounds. Local prices are absurd.

Natchez may have some good prices too. Just checked. They have a sale on Federal American Eagle. 1000 rounds for $299.
They may have other deals I didnt see.

If your gun has 223 stamped into the side of the barrel, do not substitute milsurp 5.56mm. It will chamber, but it's loaded to higher pressures and can damage a 223 AR with only a little use. A 5.56 barrel has more freebore than a 223 barrel.

Default reload

I reload all my own, I enjoy it and its like another hobby. Very rewarding when you reload your own and they shoot very accurately. You can work up a load that will wring out all the accuracy your gun has.

Ammunition To Go or Cabelas.

Check Cabelas at the end of the year and they seem to be clearing out that year's inventory.

What brand were you looking for?
