Default 2017 Alumacraft Competitor 185 Tiller

Hey guys, I haven't seen one of these setups, so I figured I would share. It's a Competitor Tiller 185 with a 2017 Evinrude 90 HO. I'm really impressed with the hole shot on this thing. It's crazy. And hits 37MPH going into the wind and with a full tank of fuel. I'm happy with that. Everything is brand new, so once it's broke in maybe I'll see a tiny bit more speed. Also, this is with a Evinrude Rebel Prop with a 15" pitch.

Nice boat! I just got my 2017 175 with a Yam 75 tiller...Love it! It appears that we have the same color scheme as well. Mine gets about 34.5-35mph so far, and it's taching out at 6100 doing it.

You can/should do better than 37mph. My first choice would be a BRP Viper prop second choice would be a Rogue.

nice rig!! i would think you might be able to get a little more out of her though.
with the correct motor height and a prop change i think you should be able to have great hole shot and see 40mph all day.

my 16 voyageur with the 115 ho will do closer to 50, and it jumps up out of the water and just flys.

Default RPM Touch Troll

I am curious how the touch troll feature on your tiller handle works.........does it adjust RPM in increments of 50, 100......

I have the 2017 Competitor 175 with the Yamaha F75 which is basically a detuned F90 and the touch troll feature works well. Ergonomically, it's a bit shrouded by the shifter handle when in forward gear but not a show stopper.

If I was ordering my boat this year, I would have heavily consider the SHO. I'm very happy with the RudeHO, but I would like to see how that motor performs once you get it. Please report back.

I have the 2017 Yamaha 90 on my competitor 185 tiller with stock aluminum prop. I can run 38 by myself and 36.5 all day long with two people! I get better performance than I ever expected. I am curious what the SHO would do.
