Nope. Booked for archery 2015 though.

Just to the East of Nipigon out of Pasha Lake Cabins (Jellico, ON). Not sure of exact area, but that's our home/base camp.

Yup going this year. Leave on October 10th for the 13th gun opener. Near Sioux Lookout. Hope the weather is good and cool.

Our group has hunted north of the Jellico area on fly in hunts. Has pretty good success. Also hunted just northwest and northeast of Sioux Lookout. Preferred the Sioux lookout area, seemed to be more moose in that area.

Interesting. Thanks for the insight.

To be honest we are just happy to go. Dad and I both have big bulls on the wall so we aren't to worried about harvesting large antlers. We are more excited about getting up there and the fact that the hunt is terribly cheap (bull tag and a cow tag). Neither of us care what we shoot. So I hope that should improve our success.

Regardless, doing an archery hunt with dad is more important than harvesting a moose.

Sounds like you have the right attitude for a good trip. It is always nice just to get into the areas frequented by moose. I always enjoyed the solitude of moose hunts. We always took along fishing gear which was a bonus.

Heading to Hearst on Oct 11 with Hearst Air for a fly in with some friends from Michigan, I am more interested in the grouse and fishing. Been going on the Moose hunt since I have been 9 yrs old and have always spent most of my time fishing and chasing grouse.

Had a successful 2014 Ontario moose hunt. On Monday the 13th I downed this nice bull after waiting for 20 minutes for him to turn broadside. It took 2 shots at 250 yards with my 30.06 to down him. Was an exciting hunt for my first moose.
