Drive shaft, all hydraulics for lift and chute direction, and electric chute elevation control. (That I made myself with a 4" 12 volt DC linear actuator, and a Marine rocker switch)
I'm in lust...I have to make do with a 335GX and a single stage 47". It's get's 'er done...but yours is better!

That's always been the problem with hot-rodding stuff. It leads to discovering the weak links pretty quickly.
I imagine your neighbors appreciate it when you crank that mother up?

Packer,
The simple solution - if you have a decent sized blower, is to add drift busters to the front of your blower.
These are simple thin metal reinforced bard that bolt on the front of the snowblower housing angling forward about 30 - 40 degrees from vertical. That way, as you go along drifts, the drift busters cut the drift off of the edge of the pile and let the blower pick it up and blow it away:

If you don't want to spend the money, you can go to a big box store and buy a couple of metal straps and bolt on to the blower. The advantage of the "made cutters" is that they normally have a reinforcing bend through the middle of the cutter to stiffen the thin material.

The other solution to your drifting problem, is to get out and blow snow every two hours or so, as the storm comes through. That way, you never let the drifts accumulate. With a good wind blowing, you just blow the snow straight up in the air and let the wind take the snow to the next county.

And hope your neighbor (or the guy 6 houses down if the wind's really blowing) isn't doing the same to you....

Cool Da UP, eh

I've got a 38hp diesel 4WD John Deere 4400 with a front PTO drive 5' 2 stage blower, similar to the pictures above. Just right for those UP snowstorms. I bought the hydrostatic transmission, because it is easier for my wife to drive that way. Problem is, we're about 1700 miles straight south of there right now.
