You guys would buy into any thing. The Australians did it just like the US does. I don't particularly like using Wikipedia, it was the easiest to access at the moment.

They have the same moral bearing as the US about taking the chance of killing innocent people I guess.

The difference bewteen Australia and the USA (I noticed the Korean crew is sueing), it will be laughed out of the courts in Australia, in the USA with the right/wrong Judge who knows.

It is still a strong message to drug smugglers. What people do for $$.

There are lots of similar stories about "mules" being used to carry drugs from other countries to the US. These "mules" are folks who want to earn an extra buck, and think that they won't be caught carrying illegal drugs.

The common thread of all of these stories, is that if you are caught carrying drugs in most foreign countries - they throw you in Jail - wait 5-10 years and then mayby see about a trial. Lots of young 20 year olds who have spent their 20s and early 30s in the jails of Mexico, South America, the middle east and the far east.

Don't do, or carry drugs. Especially in a foreign country. They take a very dim view of the practice.

No offense to our great men on the water, but we need to give them some better equipment!!!!! After I watched a waverunner SMOKE a U.S. Coast Guard inflatable Saturday, it was a little disheartening for border security. His only recourse was to meet them at port, which they did. :) Not a good sight though. :(

With the Coast Guard's new duties with border security, I would think they would be getting some very fast water craft in the near future.
