However it looks like the cockpit is a little too far forward for a smooth ride.
Take a close look at the deadrise angle at the transom on those things...nearly flat. Lots at the bow but dang near a john boat in the stern. They are kinda cool looking tho

Yep.

A boat made for saltwater for sure.

Some fishermen around here like the C-Dory. I cant understand why? Its gotta be because they look kind of cool because those things are the worst boats in chop, and chop or steep waves is what freshwater is all about.

Maybe we weren't looking at the same boat(s) but to me it looks like about a 15 degree deadrise and the hull shape at the transom looks a heck of a lot like Alumacraft's.

What do you guys think about this brand of boats? Their 1050 Pro Sportsman looks to be a real hoss of a boat.

They look like very solid boats. Pity they're made in New Zealand.

I am with the guys who are saying "a boat with a smart captain".

I have been in quite a few different brand of boats and ALL have been just fine with a smart captain.

Just last season my old man and I decided to go out on a windy day and I (which never happens) get a bit nervous in those types of waves. We were in an 18ft Pro V which made it worse. He was smart with driving so it wasn't bad.

I went out on mille lacs on a day they said the wind was going to pick up and a guy in a 21ft ranger looked at me like I was high when I dumped my 14 footer in with a 25hp and I told him I will be fine. Granted I was by myself and it was supposed to blow 20+ out of the north and I went out of garrison, I handled it just fine.

Warriors, skeeters, and Trackers I have ridden in have all been fine in those conditions you mentioned.

BUT if I were to choose, a new ZV21 or a YarCraft with be my choice.
