Default Ranger 620

Hello...I own a Ranger 620 with 250 Etech,15 HP kicker, 101 lb Terrova, 4 series 31 batteries and a full tank of gas as well as all my tackle. The boat has a 15 x 21 stainless prop and It seems to top out at 5000rpm and in the 50-53 mph range Is this normal for this boat. I am not to concerned about the top speed but would like other opinions.

Thank You

If that is your normal load you should consider dropping 2" in pitch or a different prop. If you are maxing out at 5000 RPM your motor is lugging throughout the RPM range which is not good for longevity, oil, or fuel consumption.

See www.etecownersgroup.com for more info about not propping for optimum RPM.

I have the same boat, motor and kicker with 8" hydraulic jackplate, last year I was getting 60 to 62 fully loaded depending on conditions at 5800rpm and 64 empty with 22 Raker II. BRP changed my gearcase to the 2011 model and my best prop so far has been a 23 Solas Scorpion 62 @ 5900rpm.
