I did not think the response from the Rapala Rep (if he was) was smug but rather than pay to ship them back i take them back to the store for replacement. I have a friend that is sponsored by Rap and was talking to him about this,he is usually pretty good but he has a good thing with them and was a bit defensive blaming the defect that i use 20lb braid on my baitcasters ....he was a bit pensive when i told him i use a 10lb fluro leader and did not recall seeing a line rating on the Rapala box...still a good lure but obviosly needs some modifications.

I have been trolling and casting with both the regular tail dancers and the deep tail dancers since they were introduced. I had one deep tail dancer break in half on a 14 pound dogfish. Other than that, with literally thousands of water hours, I have not had one break. They have literally brought more than a thousand walleyes to the boat without incident. The only think I have noticed over the years that may be a bit different is the quality of the finish. The newer baits seem to get scratched up from fish faster than the older ones. Maybe it's because I use the newer ones more often. IMHO they are a great bait. I'm sure I have more than 100 in my arsenal of every size and color and six or eight each of the better colors. The deep tail dancer has been my go to bait for the last four or five years. Wouldn't go out trolling without them.

I've had a number of the TDD, TT20 and DHJ-12's all fail this year.
