Default Lake Sharpe...

Got on Sharpe Saturday for the first time this season... Fished the West Bend area... Grain Bins, Pump House, etc. Caught 40 fish in a few hours but only 3 over 15. ALL the fish including a 19 incher we caught were extremely skinny and looked sick. Has anyone else noticed this??? I heard someone talking about Sharpe losing some bait fish... anyone hear anything? Little concerned.... unhealthiest fish I've seen in 5 years out there....

West bend fish have been skinny for years. Move up river to find better quality. I haven’t been up there this year, but that is how it has been in recent years.

Default Lake Sharpe...

I fished sharpe Saturday and Sunday and probably saw 250 carp in 1 foot of water on the shoreline over the course of both days. Maybe they are eating the baitfish

I was targeting smallmouth so I was up shallow. We caught a few walleyes on blade baits and the ones we caught were healthy and chubby for what it’s worth. I fished Francis case monday for walleye and they were all small and skinny walleye.

I talked to a guy this week who would know and he said the smallmouth are having a big impact on the walleye on Lake Sharpe... eat a lot of the same bait fish and the smallmouth will win that battle every day... so I guess we need to be getting limits of Smallies too!

There are guides in the area that after their clients catch their walleyes they are taken to catch a limit of smallmouths that may or may not get cleaned.
