Cabelas NTC May Go to Pierre

What To Think. The team what won the Millford tourney I believe it was the 2nd NTC.Any way there won the shut up and fish tourney in NEBRASKA. and that's the only tourney they needed to get to go to millford. just one. I personaly talked to them at little bay deknox.

Cabelas lists 24 different events across the country that can qualify teams to go to the NTC. Some organizations like ours, use a point system.Ours is based on your highest finish in two tournaments plus the two day finals. Other organizations may have one big yearly tournament where they can qualify a few teams.

Regardless, most of the teams going to the NTC have earned it either by winning the most tournaments in their local organization or maybe winning a big tournament.

I am sure that if you were to call around before the year kicks off that you can find a tournament to fish that is a Cabelas qualifier.As far as I know you can fish any of these tournaments and if you win ...your in.

I fished 2 ntc`s and qualified to go this year.It`s a great time and great run tourney. YES, I will agree that they should at least nail down a date so people can get there vac time in, but if they havent done that yet there must be a reason. It would be nice to see Cabelas post something on this matter to put the rumers to rest.

The City of Pierre would be foolish not to cough up $25k for this tournament. They will reap the benifits 10 fold. Can you immagine, 500 anglers from all over the country in the city of Pierre, and the revenue that will draw? Not to mention, those anglers going home and advertising one of the best walleye fisheries in the country??? That's cheep advertising! Not to mention the money that will be dumped into local business over that time period will be well worth the $25 investment. Get it done!!

So we have a couple of guys, that won't sign with their real names. Come on guys the NTC free. If you are not happy stay home, give the next guy a chance, the world does not revolve around you. Cabelas is trying to put on a good show, as they have in the past, it takes time to put on a good show. Give them a break or sign in.

There is no way the Pierre chamber has the cash do do this. Their annual budget doesn't even come close to making room for something like this. If they were going to come up with that kind of money it would take a year or two of fundraising. The only way this is going to happen in Pierre is if they can get SD tourism to find the money and give it to them as a tourism grant. Not only would it cost $25,000 but it will cost AT LEAST that much more in background costs. Think about what the meal costs to feed about 600 people at $10 a head. There are many other costs. It also takes dozens of people (volunteers if you can get them) to pull this off.

Hosting a NTC is a great bargain. The event brings millions into a cummunity. But it has to be a community with the money, time, people and commitment to do it in the first place. If Pierre is going to pull this off they are going to need help and it is going to take some time.

Things can happen when people with money want this event in their community. Not to mention that if it's true that for this to happen Cabela's would return in a few years and make it a permanent stop on the calender then the value of the $25,000 just got real cheap.
