Default Boat negotiations w/seedealercost.com

Wondering if any of you boat buyers out there ever used the relatively new seedealercost.com site to help with your negotiating. Interested in dealers' reactions, your success, etc.

Interesting but no alumacraft listed that I could find. I have been leaning towards alumacraft lately and would love to see how much wiggle room they have on their 25K to 30K boats.

I think it is like any other so called dealer cost site. You can use it if you believe it to be accurate. But in the end it all comes back to one premise, What you want to pay and what the dealer will sell it to you for.
Each dealer will be different based on there overhead and inventory.

If you find that the dealer cost is say 25K for a certain boat, then you have to decide what a fair profit margin is for both of you. This is not like the car business, they don't sell in that large of volume and there is no dealer hold back like autos. Don't compare shopping for a boat using seedealercost to shopping for a car using say Edmund's, they are two different animals.

Approach two or three dealers with what you want apples to apples and buy were you are most comfortable. Service should always be a thought as well as warranty work if needed. Then you will have a price range to go from.

Take seedealercost with a grain of salt as they are not always correct on models or acc. pricing.
