IPilot. Not even close. There will be more guys selling their LSS1 next year than the older IPILOT head.

After rebate on the SS they both are roughly $450 each. I would like to add one or the other this year and add the other next year as the amount of $ already spent on the boat this year is quite high.

Thanks,

I-Pilot. I didn't finish reading your question before I made my decision.

I to would say it's not even a competiton. I've been running side imaging for almost 3 yeas now. It's nice but I have never been as impressed, blown away, excited about my side imaging as I was mere days after I started using the I-Pilot.

I'd say get the StructureScan first, and it's not even close.

My argument is ........

i-Pilot is great but all it really does is drive or control the boat for you .... and you can do that yourself.

Side Scan and even Down Scan are going to show you more than conventional sonar, and will do a better job of showing you the details. If you are willing to put in the time to learn and use Side Scan and Down Scan you will learn more about the waters you're fishing and will hone in on better fishing holding locations.

So, I think you gain more with StructureScan than you do with i-Pilot.

Go with the ipilot. I have both but the iPilot with spot lock and track back is awesome. Actually last night I was fishing crappie and my battery was dead in my iPilot remote.. It was hard to use the trolling motor foot pedal to stay on top of the crappie. After 15 min and no spot lock I quickly fixed my iPilot remote. Didn't realize how much I'd miss it until I couldn't use it.

Get the iPilot you won't be sorry!

iPilot, no question. It made a huge difference in the way I fished (and my success) since I've installed it.

I-Pilot. I can live without structure scan, but I am using either anchor or course lock with the I-pilot for much of the fishing I do.

X2 could not say it better myself Honda. I`ll add if you fish unfamiliar water the LSS will out shine any Ipilot in that circumstance.

Good arguments for both sides. Good discussion people!!! Both are great tools and have/will have a big impact on our fishing.
