If you had an AR on lay away at the original price before the massive buying and price hikes would you go a head and pick it up or wait to see what if any new ban is put in place ?

I would go pick it up without a doubt.

Here is what Feinstein wants to do.

Muskyhunter, I think you are out of luck. My gunsmith has been swamped with potential AR buyers, and even the distributors are sold out.
I wouldn't buy one for at least a year. The factories are running at maximum speed, and I'm thinking quality control is suffering.

Remember, AR's are like performance cars. How much accuracy (speed with cars) do you want? How much are you willing to spend?
Compare the lowest-price DPMS to the Les Baer rifles. Performance costs $$$.

He might not be able to purchase one in a year if Obama and Feinstein get their way.

The old "assault rifle" legislation didn't stop the manufacture of semi auto AR's. Semi autos aren't assault rifles. The real assault rifles I fired in the Army all had full-auto function.

The "real" full auto assault rifle isn't readilly available to the public, also a special permit is needed to own one.
They are going to go after the "semi autos" capable of using hi. cap. mags., which are generally classified as assault weapons.
Beginning to wonder if a "pink" Rem. nylon 66 won't also be banned.?????

Or those 30 round magazines so popular with the Ruger 10-22 owners?

Exactly:
I wonder how long the list will be!
Guess we're going to find out shortly.
That 10-22 could also do alot of damage; but then a .22 with a tube can also hold quite a few rounds.
