Default To turn in or not turn into ins.

Quick story: pre fishing for a tournament while headed back to the dock my trolling motor decides to deploy while I'm givener across the lake at Mach 10. Got back to dock checked it out and it didn't look too bad. It had some issues but nothing I couldn't fight thru to get they tournament season. FF to this winter took the tm off sent it into minkota to have the small issues fixed. Turns out it's f ed up like Ray Charles tackle box. Basically they told me in better off buying a new one. Do I turn this into ins. Or will my insurance go up? Just wondering if it's worth it.

My rule of thumb is never turn in less then $1000, now you have the time element from when it happened to now, they might not pay. But you still have a ciaim so your insurance will still go up.

Yes of course it will go up. All those fancy buildings don't come from paying claims and going backwards.
