Default Ranger Trail Trailer tails switch to LED ?

I have a 2001 Ranger Trail tandem axle trailer. I would like to switch the tail lights to LED. Does anyone have first hand knowledge of where to get such items? Ranger does not have them and you can't even buy the capsules for the old tail lights, you have to buy the entire assembly from Ranger each time. Thanks for any help!

Post a picture of what lights you have...
99% sure you'll be able to find them somewhere other then Ranger.

Might not be able to find those...

Probably much easier to just switch to LED bulbs.
They are pretty common now.

If you have light bulbs in the lights, just replace the bulbs with LED bulbs.

However, if you do this - you will still have the problem of bulb contact that can happen with a bulb and socket assembly.

Another option would be to insert a hard wired in LED light module after first removing the current bulb assembly.

Does your current tail light use a light module assembly?

This light "might" work for you.

It appears that these Wesbar lights will likely fit your trailer.

You will need one drivers side light and one curb side light for the trailer:

I think that these are the same lights that are sold by E-trailer as shown in my previous reply.

E-trailer may have better prices.

One always have to look at shipping charges.

If you purchase these or other lights, can you repost- when you find the light that works best for you?

Be safe

Default Might work

Inside my red lenses is a clear "bubble" or "Capsule" - inside that are standard tail light bulbs. When the bulbs burn out you can not replace them because the capsule is sealed clear plastic. You also can not just replace the capsule anymore because Ranger won't sell it that way any longer. Now you have to buy entire light assembly including housing and red lenses which aren't even needed.

So, thanks for the advice guys. I may see if I can wire in an LED bulb package inside of the housing/lens package that I have now. That should be the most reasonably priced option. Otherwise the ones REW listed from Amazon look like they would be close to what I need.

I won't have time to mess with this for a week or so but will post results when I get it figured out.

Thanks again!

While LED's would be the best option, the capsules you speak of are probably made by Wesbar and are still available.

The Wesbar #403356 capsule is an up-dated design, that allows replacement of the bulb itself. You could possibly find an LED bulb to fit inside the capsule.

Here's a view of the new version. http://trailerpartssource.com/Wesbar-403356
